The Mommy Spa
About Us
The Mommy Spa was founded in 2001 by Lindsay MacInnis inspired by a  vision to provide massage therapy to heal the body, mind and spirit. The Mommy Spa name refers as much to our specialty in pregnancy massage as it does our nurturing and healing intention. Families and individuals of all configurations welcome!

Our Mission:
In a healing place of non-judgement, it is our privilege to provide premium services, ultimate pampering and educational workshops that nurture families and individuals alike. It is our goal to:
  • Empower our clients with knowledge of their birthing choices;
  • Teach new parents nurturing touch techniques to build a life-long bond with their new baby;
  • Offer alternative modalities as adjunctive therapy for pregnant, cardiac & oncology patients and others with immune system disorders or chronic pain.

Blending eastern and western modalities we strive to help clients improve their mobility, endurance, and immunity, relieve pain, reduce stress and its effects, and ultimately optimize their body’s own natural healing abilities.

Lindsay received her Massage Therapy Certification from Body Therapy Center in Palo Alto, California. It was Lindsay’s own pregnancy at age 40 that sparked the conception of The Mommy Spa – offering Pregnancy Massage as adjunct healthcare for the birthing years and beyond. Lindsay went on to obtain Advanced Certification in Pregnancy Massage; studying under such recognized experts as Elaine Stillerman, LMT – New York, NY, author of Mother Massage and Carol Osborne-Sheets, CMT – San Diego, CA, author of Pre and Perinatal Massage.

Lindsay’s interest in Energy Medicine and Healing began in the early 1980’s, when her father was dying of cancer. When pain medications were failing to make him comfortable; she would often give her father a foot massage. It amazed her how effective it was in helping to calm him and relieve his pain. Helping cancer patients heal and manage their pain continues to be an area of personal and professional study. Lindsay received Advanced Certification in Oncology Massage – Body Therapy Center, Palo Alto in 2002.

Reiki I and CranioSacral Therapy I Lindsay continues to study Reiki II with Frank Leonardi, LAc and Reiki Master at the Dao Healing Center in Willow Glen. Her work with CranioSacral Therapy continues to be an area of special interest as clients experience it’s amazing healing qualities. A level II certification is on the horizon for both of these modalities.
